The back side of the frame is thin. Easy to trace the shape on paper.
M-2f is 320 mm wide (250 mm of pins). At 100 mm wider than M-1f, it is perfect for bigger objects. Strong and lightweight with a wooden frame made of guibourtia and thin stainless backside.

Mako(Bamboo Profile Gauge)
Mako is a wooden profile gauge. Press Mako against the object to measure the shape, then trace the accurate shape on paper. Lately more and more archeologists around the world are using Mako as an essential archeology tool.
Mako’s wooden frames are made by Japanese excellent craftsmanship, which gives a nice pleasant texture and will fit your hands.
The pins are very thin, about 0.5 mm. They are made of bamboo which is very flexible and soft so that they won’t scratch the objects. Makos are ideal for examining the valuable objects before they are exhibited or stored.
Compared to metal profile gauges, Makos are much lighter.Comfortable to use for long hours. They last for many years because bamboo pins are very flexible and won’t break easily.
